ECMWF switch to GRIB2

Hi,

ECMWF is increasing their number of levels in the next few months and the model level data will only be
available in GRIB2. Are there any plans to convert GRIB2ARL [and other conversion programs] to use
GRIB2 or will I just have to convert the ECMWF data to GRIB1 before using it.

Thanks

A GRIB2 to ARL converter is supplied both with the PC and LINUX versions. You can find the program (api2arl) in the /data2arl directory. Only the source code is provided and it needs to be compiled using the ECMWF grib_api libraries. Some customization may be required depending upon the data fields that you normally download.
