WARNING metini: WVERT=.FALSE. and Z_FLAG=5

Post by maiacalvelloWRF »

Hello,
I'm running Hysplit dispersion model with WRF meteorological data, converted to ARL, as input. After running Hysplit, I found the warning message "WARNING metini: WVERT=.FALSE. and Z_FLAG=5
Setting Z_FLAG=1 to use prfsig vertical interpolation".
I searched the Hysplit guide and NOAA Technical Memorandum ERL ARL-224 but I didn't find a way to solve this warning.
Attached you can find the "message" and "control" files for the run

There are couple of reasons that HYSPLIT resets Z_FLAG to 1 even you use WRF files with Z_FLAG=5. One of them is WVERT=false or being reset to false. Your message file shows WVERT=F. So, set WVERT=true in SETUP.CFG.
