Deposited puffs in PARDUMP.txt

Hello,

I'm running a dispersion simulation using the attached files (CONTROL, SETUP, EMITTIMES). Upon examining PARDUMP.txt, I've observed that while I can accurately compute the mass of puffs in the air at various time instant when considering puffs located at a height > 0, there appears to be a ...

Level height for Gh-Pv

Hello,

I need to compute the concentration of a pollutant into the atmosphere at certain heights or height intervals.

I'm using INITD=3 (Gaussian horizontal and vertical particle distribution).

From the HYSPLIT user-guide, I read:

22(7)- Height of each level (m)
Default: 50

Output grid levels ...

Re: Increase topography resolution

Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to tell the code to use the user-defined TERRAIN.ASC even when the wind-field has its own ground elevation?

Many thanks

Increase topography resolution

Hello,

I'd like to improve the topography of the meteo data.

Performing WRF simulations and using the resulting meteo files is one option. I'm wondering if it is possible to use a gdas file and substitute the TERRAIN.ASC file with the topography that I'd like to use.

Many thanks
Regards

Re: add_grid

Thanks for the reply.

I'm trying to use the add_grid routine because I'd like to improve the spatial resolution of my meteo data.
Alternatively, I'm doing WRF simulations and they seems to work.

Re: add_grid

I've tried again and it worked. I set 2 as resolution divisor and N in Add one i-coordinate.

Is there a threshold on the resolution divisor? I've tried with 10 but it did not work.

Attached the link to the gdas file that I'm using.

Re: add_data routine

I've tried with a lambent conformal grid and it worked.
Many thanks!

Re: add_data routine

Yes, I'm using a lat-lon grid. So, is this a problem of the wind-field that I'm using (in this case a GDAS 1.0 deg) or of my lat-lon point? I tried with different wind-fields, but I still get the same error.
Many thanks for your help!

Re: add_data routine

Thanks!

Setting the observation time equal to the start of the meteo data I can produce the new meteo file.

However, I still get this error:

Station outside of gridded file boundary (lat, lon): 37.00 15.00

The problem is that those points are inside my domain.

Thanks again for you help
