Re: CFSR data

Thanks for the quick reply, for me it's still the same with V0.9.8. For the moment I'm resetting times which are not 0 6 12 18 to what they should be....

Re: time variable in arl files

Hi Yaqiang,

I had tried to reply to your message, but somehow it didn't go through, sorry ... and earlier I somehow I had completly overlooked your message and only seen Barbara's answer.

I have understood and solved the problem with the MeteoInfo conversion:
The grib-file needs to contain the ...

Re: CFSR data

Hi,

mostly my CFSR data conversion has now been working perfectly fine with MeteoInfo (conversion grib2 to arl).
However, now I have two datasets, where MeteoInfo seems not to recognize the correct time step (or there is a problem in the data, I don't know!). This happens already before the ...

Re: time variable in arl files

Hi Yaqiang,

I realize only now that I never saw your post here - either I completly overlooked it or maybe it was only approved after I had written my answer to Barbara?
Anyhow, I'm back now since a long time to the question and I think I have understood (and solved) the problem in the meanwhile ...

Re: time variable in arl files

Thanks Barbara, for detailing the ARL convention. That helps me a bit to find my error!

Re: colors of trajectories

Thanks, that's doing the job!
Now I have to solve my time-problem, and then I'm hopefully done and can start doing science after getting the tools ready!

Chears,

time variable in arl files

Dear all,

I am struggling a bit with the timing of my meteorological data. I have to add that this is my first contact with grib, arl and forecast/reanalysis data so maybe I'm asking questions which are obvious for everybody else.

I am working with CFSR forecast (6hr) and analysis data and ...

Re: colors of trajectories

Hei Yaqiang,
thanks once more for your helpfull answers and sorry for the delay, but it took me a while to explore everything.

3: You were right, I wasn't using the newest MeteoInfo version (version 0.9.6 is online available, but I had an older one and not had the idea to check if there might be a ...

Re: colors of trajectories

Hi,

thanks once more for your infos. (Comment aside, maybe it would be good to have a subforum about MeteoInfo things if MeteoInfo is used more frequently with hysplit)?
1. jd-gui is great, thanks for the hint.
2. Yes, I have seen your chinese blog, but there is more IronPython than Jython examples ...

input data for trajectory calculation

Hi,

I have mentioned this question elsewhere in the forum, but maybe it got lost because it was in the middle of some data conversion questions.
What kind of input data do I need to calculate trajectories? I have found different information on what is needed and what is optional and I'm still a bit ...
